The Hauppauge WinTV MiniStick, among other Hauppauge products that are supported by the sms1xxx driver, have all been broken in the 2.6.31-rc kernels and the v4l-dvb development repository for some time as a result of incorrect gpio programming by another developer.
The bad code has been removed, restoring DVB-T tuning functionality. The fix is on it's way into the 2.6.31 kernel. Unfortunately, certain additional features, such as dynamic antennae switching and LED feedback based on signal strength, that worked in 2.6.30 are currently broken in today's driver.
